5 Reasons to go to Pet Fed

What to expect at Pet Fed. #petfed #delhi #india

“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and man.” – Mark Twain

I visited the Pet Fed Delhi event in December and met hundreds of lively creatures. And I came home with the feeling of joy, wonder, and jubilance. That’s what happens when you spend some time with happy beings. And I am not talking about humans beings here. I am talking about pets like dogs and cats.

India is not traditionally a country where social interaction between animals and humans is encouraged. But it is gradually changing with many people now opting for pets. Various pet-friendly cafes have also opened in the last few years in different parts of the country like Therpup Cafe in Bangalore, and Puppychino Cafe in Delhi. But probably the biggest push is given by a pet festival called ‘Pet Fed’ which has been an annual affair since 2014 and allows pet-lovers to spend some time with furry animals.

PET FED is India’s biggest pet festival that happens annually in 3 cities – Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. It brings thousands of pet owners together for a blissful day through various fun activities and games. It also gives a chance for pet lovers who don’t own a pet to get close to thousands of friendly dogs.

I am sharing with you what makes Pet Fed unique, and reasons why I believe it is worth your time at least once.

5 Reasons to go to Pet Fed

1. Chance for your dog to meet other dogs.

This is not only a festival for pet owners to meet other pet owners and their dogs but is also for your pets to make friends with other dogs. Some dogs would not be friendly to each other and would bark and be ready to fight, while others would be instant friends.

2. Fun activities for your dogs to play and enjoy

Since the event is for pets, special fun activities are arranged for dogs. Your dog can enjoy doggy ball pool, trampoline, tunnels, and other fun games.

3. Meet hundreds of dogs

Pet Fed is not just for pets and their owners, but also for pet lovers. You will get to see lots of different breeds of dogs like Labrador, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Poodle, Yorkshire Terrier, and many others. Pets are extremely friendly to humans; they will let you play with them, hold them. You can even shake hands with them. And they are always ready to get their picture clicked. If you don’t own a pet but have always loved these furry animals, you are in for a treat.

4. See dogs in action

All-day long, various competitions are conducted for the dogs:

Fashion show

Owners bring their dogs in different attires and walk on the stage with them for the prize of the most fashionable dog.

Zigzag race

Owners have to get their dogs to walk in a zigzag path in the least amount of time.

Find the treat

Three bowls are placed face-down with the dog food placed beneath one of the three bowls. Winner dog has to find the treat in the minimum time.

Finish the treat

The treat is placed before each participant dog and one who finishes its treat in minimum time is declared as the winner.

Temptation Alley

This is the flagship and most popular activity of Pet Fed where the dog has to come to its owner in minimum time. But there is a twist. Various treats and toys are placed in the path to tempt the dog.

5. Adopt a dog

If you don’t have a dog but have always longed for one, then you can adopt a dog from the adoption centre and get yourself a friend.

Pet Fed is a 2-day event but I could only manage to attend the first day. I really loved my time with the wonderful furry animals so much so that I am waiting for Pet Fed in 2019.
