Paros is one of the many thousands of islands of Greece and is part of the Cyclades Island group. It’s famous for its pristine beaches with crystal clear waters and charming villages like Naoussa, known for narrow lanes and whitewashed houses. Paros also serves as a cheaper alternative to the more popular and expensive island of Mykonos—perfect for beach hopping in Paros on a budget.

Where to Stay for Beach Hopping in Paros
Most buses depart or arrive at Parikia town or Naoussa, so base yourself there for easy beach hopping in Paros. We stayed in Parikia as it is the port town, walkable from the ferry for luggage ease, and most routes start here.
Tips for Beach Hopping in Paros Using Public Buses
Some routes run less frequently, so plan carefully if combining distant beaches as you don’t want to get stranded. Piso Livadi, Logaras, Punda, and Golden Beach cluster in southeast Paros, serviced by 20+ buses daily. Some beaches are close enough to walk between, making them easy for beach hopping in Paros in one day.
Kolympethres (northwest) and Santa Maria (northeast) have just 5–10 buses daily, so many north beaches may not fit in one day. For flexibility across far-flung spots, rent a car or ATV (>€50 or ~₹5,500) if you’re comfortable driving abroad.

Our Experience Beach Hopping in Paros
Kolympethres topped our list for its marble-like rocks, unique among Paros beaches. We paired it with Golden Beach, after checking timetables to confirm feasibility. We wanted to have best beach experience on budget instead of covering maximum number of beaches in a day. Also both Megha and I are not swimmers, so we wanted to cover beaches with different vibes.
We bought a day pass from Parikia station as we were to take more than 5 bus rides. Day pass was not only cheap but also convenient as we didn’t need to buy bus ticket every time.
Golden Beach

We boarded 10 AM bus from Parikia and reached Golden Beach station in less than an hour. We walked from the station to beach and were welcomed with long shoreline of golden sand. The beach was quiet and beautiful with crystal clear water. We always prefer less crowded beach as it gives us ample space to lie down and enjoy the water.
We lounged, splashed, and soaked views for a couple hours, then dashed for the 1:05 PM return.
Kolympethres Beach
While Golden Beach is in southeast Paros, Kolympethres Beach is northwest Paros. So, it was a long journey from Golden Beach to Kolympethres Beach that included 3 bus rides – Golden Beach to Parikia, Parikia to Noussa, and Noussa to Kolympethres Beach.
Our bus departing Golden Beach ran 20 minutes late and we reached Parikia at 2:17, just catching the 2:15 bus to Noussa. Missing it would’ve derailed us, as the next Naoussa-Kolymbithres was 5:30 PM after the current 3 PM one.
We reached Kolympethres at 3:10. First we had lunch at nearby restaurant and then went to the beach. As it was evening, sun was not too hot, and it was perfect weather to enjoy the beach. The Kolympethres beach was stunning with marble like rocks all around and pristine water. We loved Kolympethres Beach more than the Golden Beach.

We sat on one of the rocks and just enjoyed the views. Then we walked on to water and sand underneath water was so soft that made walking very easy. We did not bathe as we had already bathed in Golden Beach and did not have any spare clothes left. We stayed there for 1.5 hours and then left to catch 5:40 PM bus to Noussa.
Final Thoughts on Beach Hopping in Paros
Beach hopping in Paros using public buses is doable but demands flexibility for delays. Southeastern beaches shine for convenience with frequent service. For distant ones, keep some buffer time for delays or pivot to taxis if needed. Had we missed 2:15 bus to Noussa, we would had either taken taxi to Kolympethres Beach or gone to Santa Maria beach.
